This was the first map title ever published by ROAD. That was in 1995 and that first map bears no resemblance to this latest edition and the other ROAD maps in circulation. It did not have a hard cover, had been designed using simple equipment (a compass and an altimeter, and there were no palmtops with GPS receivers back then..) and lacked the colours and technical features of current ROAD maps, while the geophysical background was rudimentary. Despite all this, it was the first time the island's road network was charted with relative precision on a commercial map. Our good sales results gave us the impetus to carry on, improve and create the extensive range of ROAD maps favoured by demanding travellers that settle only for the best.

Santorini may be a small island, but it has a dense road network, an extremely interesting coastline and equally interesting up-country. Therefore, a good map is a necessity if you wish to discover the places rushed tourists never see. Even if you limit yourself to Oia and Fyra, this ROAD map is invaluable, as its latest edition contains two wonderful, extremely detailed city maps. The map of Fyra accurately marks 105 guest houses, 133 shops, 97 restaurants and bars and 28 other major buildings and public services, all of which can be located at a glance! On the other hand, 50 guest houses, 60 shops and 35 restaurants and bars are accurately marked on the map of Oia.
